Product Review: Revlon Highlighting Palette

Product Review

This review is for Revlon's Highlighting Palettes.  In honor of full disclosure, I was given this blush by a dear family member and therefore did not purchase it myself.  I however would have paid the money to experience these palettes.

These appear very similar in the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks, which seems to have become a very popular format for cheek color that provides illumination. My past experiences with drugstore versions of these "palettes" have not been very good. Therefore I have avoided them before now. You might ask how I came to try this palette.  To be fair I had to see it to believe it.  I saw it on my dear family member and was taken with the effects.

It was a wonderful effect that provided a beautiful glow to the skin without looking oily.  She has drier skin and a bit darker skin than mine so I wasn't sure how it would translate on my own skin.  I have oily combination skin but am typically drier in the cheek area and I do love me some highlight!

She advised me that she normally just swirls it together and applies it that way.  I did the same and applied it very lightly and in layers.  It can however be applied in sections giving a more intense highlight by applying the lightest shade to the top parts of the cheek and the brighter colors along the traditional blush line and the darker towards the bottom of the cheekbone.

I contour as i normally would and then use this as a blush and then isolate the lightest shade to the top of the cheek and just above the brow. It gives a beautiful sunkissed glow. However it will pick up any unevenness on the cheekbone.  There are some pretty big sparkle within these palettes that does translate to the skin.  If you do not like sparkle, this is not a good palette for you.

This palette comes in three choices of color:

  • Rose Glow (the one I tried)
  • Peach Glow
  • Bronze Glow

They are a bit on the pricey side for drugstore blush but I believe is worth the money especially for the summer season that is coming.

Revlon.com uses drugstore.com to purchase from there site. Here is an affiliate link that will take you to the same site to purchase it, if you would like.

If you give this a try, please leave me some comments telling me your thoughts!

Until next time, have a wonderful day!
